God did not create the universe, says Hawking

Source: http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20100902/lf_nm_life/us_britain_hawking

LONDON (Reuters) – God did not create the universe and the "Big Bang" was an inevitable consequence of the laws of physics, the eminent British theoretical physicist Stephen Hawking argues in a new book.

In "The Grand Design," co-authored with U.S. physicist Leonard Mlodinow, Hawking says a new series of theories made a creator of the universe redundant, according to the Times newspaper which published extracts on Thursday.

"Because there is a law such as gravity, the universe can and will create itself from nothing. Spontaneous creation is the reason there is something rather than nothing, why the universe exists, why we exist," Hawking writes.

"It is not necessary to invoke God to light the blue touch paper and set the universe going."

Hawking, 68, who won global recognition with his 1988 book "A Brief History of Time," an account of the origins of the universe, is renowned for his work on black holes, cosmology and quantum gravity.

Since 1974, the scientist has worked on marrying the two cornerstones of modern physics -- Albert Einstein's General Theory of Relativity, which concerns gravity and large-scale phenomena, and quantum theory, which covers subatomic particles.

His latest comments suggest he has broken away from previous views he has expressed on religion. Previously, he wrote that the laws of physics meant it was simply not necessary to believe that God had intervened in the Big Bang.

He wrote in A Brief History ... "If we discover a complete theory, it would be the ultimate triumph of human reason -- for then we should know the mind of God."

In his latest book, he said the 1992 discovery of a planet orbiting another star other than the Sun helped deconstruct the view of the father of physics Isaac Newton that the universe could not have arisen out of chaos but was created by God.

"That makes the coincidences of our planetary conditions -- the single Sun, the lucky combination of Earth-Sun distance and solar mass, far less remarkable, and far less compelling evidence that the Earth was carefully designed just to please us human beings," he writes.

Hawking, who is only able to speak through a computer-generated voice synthesizer, has a neuro muscular dystrophy that has progressed over the years and left him almost completely paralyzed.

He began suffering the disease in his early 20s but went on to establish himself as one of the world's leading scientific authorities, and has also made guest appearances in "Star Trek" and the cartoons "Futurama" and "The Simpsons."

Last year he announced he was stepping down as Cambridge University's Lucasian Professor of Mathematics, a position once held by Newton and one he had held since 1979.

"The Grand Design" is due to go on sale next week.

Looks like even Hawking is becoming more stupid in his reasoning when he say:

Because there is a law such as gravity, the universe can and will create itself from nothing. Spontaneous creation is the reason there is something rather than nothing, why the universe exists, why we exist

He need to clarify what is 'singularity' (according to his big bang theory) and how it is there in the first place. The universe must have a beginning, it cant appear out of no where. He will never be able too because only the Creator knows this. He was been given a bit of knowledge and he is now very arrogant.

Its very much like the physic theory that energy cannot be made or destroyed. It just changes from one form to another. The basic theory is understood but if we ask about how are there energy at the first palce, it will defy the man made theory on energy. The energy MUST some from somewhere.

Hawking later gave the stupidest comment saying that due to spontaneous creation, something is there from nothing. In other words, he say that something is created from nothing. First of all, spontaneous is just an unproven raw idea which could not even explain (with evidence) how anything at all is created. Its a theory on how life started. This theory upholds the Darwin ideology which is also a piece of crap from the scientific view.

I dare him to just show how 'something is created from nothing at all'. If he can I will chop off my head.

Try imagine in a vacuum, can anything appear?

People who dont think will fall victims to people like them. Knowledge is power and Allah have given us logical reasoning which will allow us to differ truth from falsehood.

Help me Akademi Al-Quran

First of all, I am not a fan of Akedemi Al-Quran and I do not learn Quran from them.

I accidentally went to their website at:
http://www.akademialquran.com/

They are promoting their products of course. At the right bottom corner, I saw the following hadith:

Nabi s.a.w pernah bersabda :
"Berapa ramai daripada kalangan pembaca, membaca Al-Quran ,tetapi ketika dia sedang membaca Al-Quran itu,Al-Quran pula melaknat dia".
Riwayat Al-Bukhari

  • Adakah Sah solat mereka??

I could not find this hadith in Bukhari when I flipped through the book but I find this hadith instead:

Aishah (May Allah be pleased with her) reported: The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said, "The one who is proficient in the recitation of the Qur'an will be with the honourable and obedient scribes (angels) and he who recites the Qur'an and finds it difficult to recite, doing his best to recite it in the best way possible, will have a double reward.''
[Al-Bukhari and Muslim]

Commentary:

Proficient here means one who reads the Qur'an in accordance with the rules of "Ilm At-Tajwid'' (the science of the recitation of the Qur'an) as is evidenced from the words of Imam Bukhari's narration and the title given to the chapter.

This Hadith also highlights the merit of the reader of the Qur'an who does not know `Ilm At-Tajwid, and for that reason cannot read it fluently. But in spite of this, he reads it with great effort. He will be given double reward, one for the difficulty encountered in reciting it, and another for reading it. Safratun translated in the Hadith as scribes (angels) mean the angels that convey the Wahy (Revelation) to the Messenger of Allah. Imam Bukhari has taken it to mean "one who makes reconciliation''. The angels who bring Wahy and chastisement from Allah.

Well, if anyone could help me. 2 things:

1. Which book and the number of hadith in Bukhari is the hadith from the akademialquran are taken from?

2. Is there a contradictory to the two parts which were bolded in red above?

Reciting the Quran

I was reading a while back when I remembered this hadiths from Sahih Muslim about the Khawarij. Please correct me if I am wrong.

Chapter# 44, Book 5, Number 2316:

Jabir b. Abdullah reported that a person came to the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) at Jirana on his way back from Hunain, and there was in the clothes of Bilal some silver. The Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) took a handful out of that and bestowed it upon the people. He (the person who had met the Prophet at Ji’rana) said to him: Muhammad, do justice. He (the Holy Prophet) said: Woe be upon thee, who would do justice if I do not do justice, and you would be very unfortunate and a loser if I do not do justice. Upon this Umar b. Khattab (Allah be pleased with him) said: Permit me to kill this hypocrite. Upon this he (the Holy Prophet) said: May there be protection of Allah! People would say that I kill my companions. This man and his companions would recite the Qur’an but it would not go beyond their throat, and they swerve from it just as the arrow goes through the prey.

Book 5, Number 2317:

This hadith has been narrated on the authority of Jabir b. ‘Abdullah through another chain of transmitters.

Book 5, Number 2318:

Abu Said Khudri reported that ‘Ali (Allah be pleased with him) sent some gold alloyed with dust to the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him), and the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) distributed that among four men, al-Aqra b. Habis Hanzali and Uyaina b. Badr al-Fazari and ‘Alqama b. ‘Ulatha al-’Amiri, then to one person of the tribe of Kilab and to Zaid al-Khair al-Ta’l, and then to one person of the tribe of Nabhan. Upon this the people of Quraish felt angry and said: He (the Holy Prophet) gave to the chiefs of Najd and ignored us. Upon this the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) said: I have done it with a view to con- cillating them. Then there came a person with thick beard, prominent cheeks, deep sunken eyes and protruding forehead and shaven head. He said: Muhammad, fear Allah. Upon this the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) said: If I disobey Allah, who would then obey Him? Have I not been (sent as the) most trustworthy among the people of the-world? -but you do not repose trust in me. That person then went back. A person among the people then sought permission (from the Holy Prophet) for his murder. According to some, it was Khalid b. Walid who sought the permission. Upon this the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him), said: From this very person’s posterity there would arise people who would recite the Qur’an, but it would not go beyond their throat; they would kill the followers of Islam and would spare the idol-worshippers. They would glance through the teachings of Islam so hurriedly just as the arrow passes through the pray. If I were to ever find them I would kill them like ‘Ad.

Book 5, Number 2319:

Abu Said al-Khudri reported: ‘Ali b. Abu Talib sent to the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) from Yemen some gold alloyed with clay in a leather bag dyed in the leaves of Mimosa flava. He distributed it among four men. ‘Uyaina b. Hisna, Aqra’ b. Habis and Zaid al-Khail, and the fourth one was either Alqama b. ‘Ulatha or ‘Amir b. Tufail. A person from among his (Prophet’s) Companions said: We had a better claim to this (wealth) than these (persons). This (remark) reached the Apostle of Allah (may peace be upon him) upon which he said: Will you not trust me, whereas I am a trustee of Him Who is in the heaven? The news come to me from the heaven morning and evening. Then there stood up a person with deep snnken eyes, prominent cheek bones, and elevated forehead, thick beard, shaven head, tucked up loin cloth, and he said: Messenger of Allah, fear Allah. He (the Holy Prophet) said: Woe to thee. do I not deserve most to fear Allah amongst the people of the earth? That man then returned. Khalid b. Walid then said: Messenger of Allah, should I not strike his neck? Upon this he (the Holy Prophet) said: Perhaps he may be observing the prayer. Khalid said: How many observers of prayer are there who profess with their tongue what is not in their heart? Upon this the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) said: I have not been commanded to pierce through the hearts of people, nor to split their bellies (insides). He again looked at him and he was going back. Upon this he (the Holy Prophet) said: There would arise a people from the progeny of this (man) who would recite the Qur’an glibly, but it would not go beyond their throats; they would (hurriedly) pass through (the teachings of their) religion just as the arrow passes through the prey. I conceive that he (the Holy Prophet) also said this: If I find them I would certainly kill them as were killed the (people of) Thamud.

I understand that these hadiths is about the Khawarij whom we know will be the Dajjal soldiers.

I highlighted some parts of em. People will one day recite the Quran but it will not go beyond their throat. If we recite Quran, there will be sound of recitation from the throat, so whats wrong here?

From the way I see it, if we just recite the Quran without understanding it (the meaning/message), it will be just a sound leaving our throat and nothing more. I am not saying that its a bad thing to recite Quran. What I am trying to emphasize here is you will not be able to benefit if you just recite and do not know what it means. From my point of view, al-Quran is a Book of Guidance and if you do not understand its meaning, you cant benefit from it. At the end, we will not know about the religion at all.

Blinded by ego and culture, I see this happens to our society. Whats the point of having the ability to recite but do not act on it. To act on it, we need to understand the meaning.

Sahih Bukhari
Volume 6, Book 61, Number 579:

Narrated Abu Musa:

The Prophet said, "The example of a believer who recites the Qur'an and acts on it, like a citron which tastes nice and smells nice. And the example of a believer who does not recite the Qur'an but acts on it, is like a date which tastes good but has no smell. And the example of a hypocrite who recites the Qur'an is like a Raihana (sweet basil) which smells good but tastes bitter And the example of a hypocrite who does not recite the Quran is like a colocynth which tastes bitter and has a bad smell."

The following hadith from Sahih Bukhari, might tell you what will happen to us in the end:

Narrated Anas: The Prophet said, "When a human being is laid in his grave and his companions return and he even hears their foot steps, two angels come to him and make him sit and ask him: What did you use to say about this man, Muhammad ? He will say: I testify that he is Allah's slave and His Apostle. Then it will be said to him, 'Look at your place in the Hell-Fire. Allah has given you a place in Paradise instead of it.' " The Prophet added, "The dead person will see both his places. But a non-believer or a hypocrite will say to the angels, 'I do not know, but I used to say what the people used to say! It will be said to him, 'Neither did you know nor did you take the guidance (by reciting the quran).' Then he will be hit with an iron hammer between his two ears, and he will cry and that cry will be heard by whatever approaches him except human beings and jinns." (Book #23, Hadith #422)

Still reciting the Quran the same way?

The Star and Crescent

Familiar with this? Where can you see this? Is this a symbol of Islam?
Lets read some information from wikipedia:

The star and crescent appear in combination in finds from in and around ancient Israel. It has been associated with the Moabites (14th or early 13th – 6th century BC), as the symbol or symbols appear on what are thought to be Moabite name seals. Crescents appearing together with a star or stars are a common feature of Sumerian iconography, the crescent usually being associated with the moon god Sin and the star (often identified as Venus) with Ishtar. However, in this context, there is a third element often seen, that being the sun disk of Shamash.
Academic discussion of a star or stars together with crescents in Sumerian representations does not always clearly indicate if they appear in isolation (the "star and crescent" as such) or as part of a triad of symbols, "the three celestial emblems, the sun disk of Samas, the crescent of Sin, and the star of Istar" or "the crescent of Sin (the moon god), the star of Ishtar and the ray of Shamash". Nevertheless, later use of the star and crescent by the Parthians, and other Iranian dynasties is often traced to earlier use in Mesopotamia. As one scholar observed, "[t]he Parthian king Mithradates I conquered Mesopotamia around 147 BC, and Susa in about 140 BC A later Parthian king, Orodes II (58-38 BC), issued coins at Susa and elsewhere which display a star and crescent on the obverse. The succeeding ruler, Phraates IV (38-3/2 BC), minted coins showing either a star alone or a star with crescent moon. In representing the star and crescent on their coins the Parthians thus adopted traditional symbols used in Mesopotamia and Elam more than two millennia before their own arrival in those parts." Along these lines, some scholars maintain that later use of the symbol arose from Babylonian mythology in which the juxtaposition of Sin (moon god, father of time) and Shamash (supreme ruling sun god, judge of heaven and earth) was a metaphor for the cosmic powers given to the Babylonian king to rule.

Prophet Ibrahim (PBUH) knows Sin and Ishtar very well cause he destroyed the idols [21:57-58].

Today we are using the symbols of this fake gods/idols.
Where do we use them? Everywhere (thinking that it is 'islamic').

The sickest place is on top of our mosque. A place we pray to Allah. I just wish I can go up there and break it off!

Oh and I forget to say its also on the Malaysia flag that many people salute and stand facing it when 'Negaraku' is sung. Lets solute to the Pagan god.

Dont like this? Then do something about it.

Merdeka?

Tanggal 31 Ogos.
Hari Merdeka.

Tapi 'merdeka'kah kita?

KITA MENJADI HAMBA MEREKA!

Ramadan o Ramadan

This years ramadan is a special one. Compared to the few last year, this year I get to live through it with my wife. Its our first ramadan together. Its the best ramadan I ever had till now.

Many asked me about how do I find ramadan cause they know I am a revert. Well, fasting is not really hard if its just not having food or drinks in the day because we break fast during magrib.

What I find hard is the fasting of tongue (what we choose to say), fasting of the eyes (what we choose to see) and fasting of the mind (what we think).

I pray that this years Ramadan will make me a better servant of Allah, a better husband and a better father (OTW).

Full chronology of the "Allah" Controversy

Full chronology of the "Allah" Controversy - Final by Fatimah Zuhri

" This is the last time I will talk about this issue. From my
observation the issue is coming to a close now and from what I have
heard a win-win situation will soon be achievable.

1. I did not want to touch this issue but I feel it is important that
everyone (ALL Malaysians) understand the chronology of event relating to
this.

2. First of all, yes Allah is an Arabic word which have been used for
many many years.

3. As a matter of fact, for Muslim, we believe that Islam started from
Adam PBUH. Therefore Adam is the first ever man to use the word. The
issue for Malaysian Muslim has never been about the lose of a "word" but
the future implications of the word.

llah-future- implications- of-the-high- court-decision- -fatimah- zuhri
>

4. Now that we have settle that issue, let us look at the chronology of
the controversy.

5. On 7th January 2009, The Herald and The Home Ministry came to a
MUTUAL agreement where the Home Ministry agreed to give permit to The
Herald for its publications if they agree to :

a) NOT use the word "Allah" in the Malay Bible (High Malay etc)
b) Have the word "LIMITED" printed in the cover of the Bible
c) The Malay Bible should not be used to convert Muslim in Malaysia.
d) The agreement will be annually revised

6. The Herald AGREED to the above rules and a MUTUAL agreement was
achieved with The Home Ministry.

7. Thus, on April 2009, at an International Book Fair, the new version
of the Malay Bible without the word "Allah" was unveiled to all and
sundry.

http://www.alarabiy a.net/articles/ 2009/04/26/ 71464.html
<http://www.alarabiy a.net/articles/ 2009/04/26/ 71464.html>

8. The word "Allah" was replaced with "Elohim" which is also translated
as God.

9. To any rational person, this is a win-win situation no? But as you
can read from the link above, some Christian leaders are still not
satisfied.

10. Magically, on October 2009, 15,000 Bibles containing the word
"Allah" were imported from Indonesia into Malaysia.

http://www.crosswal k.com/11616546/ <http://www.crosswal k.com/11616546/>

11. Now, this move is interesting on two levels :

a) The Herald has MUTUALLY AGREED on 07 January 2009 to NOT use the word
"Allah"

b) The circulation is is 13,000 with a readership of 5,000 ONLY. But
they imported over 15,000 bibles where 10,000 were sent to East Malaysia
while another 5000 were posted to West Malaysia.

12. Anyone who read the Bible in the 60s,70s and 80s in Peninsular
Malaysia would know that there is no word "Allah" either in Malay Bible
or English Bible.

13. The move to import over 15,000 Bibles containing the word "Allah"
were clearly breaking the MUTUAL AGREEMENT earlier in the year and seems
to have some "hidden motive" (5K Malay Bible in West Malaysia)

14. Therefore the Kastam DiRaja Malaysia seized the 15,000 Malay Bibles
from Indonesia.

15. This created uproar amongst the SAME leaders who were dissatisfied
over the new version of Malay Bible in April 2009.

16. They went to the High Court on the basis that The Home Ministry is
restricting their "Human Rights" to practice their religion;
Christianity.

17. Convenient isn't it? You agreed at first, then you break your
promise, then you sued when people take action on you for breaking a
MUTUAL AGREEMENT.

18. Of course as we knew it, on 31st December 2009, Judge Bee Lan from
The High Court agreed that it is against Article 11 of the Malaysian
Constitution and awarded the "victory" to The Herald.

19. In making her decision, Judge Bee Lan chided the Malaysian
Government effort of preventing future racial/religious riot by saying :

" Justice Lau ruled as grounds for her judgement that both the
respondents the minister and the Malaysian government had
failed throughout the trial to prove how the use of the word
"Allah" could threaten national security. "

20. On early Morning of 8th January 2010, a Church was torched....the
rest are history. Hopefully Judge Bee Lan can finally have her answer.
